Mesa ranked 3rd Best City in the United States E-mail
Sunday, 01 October 2006

As of September 30, there were 47,889 active listings in our MLS.

Recently the East Valley Tribune reported that Money magazine announced that Mesa ranked third on its list of "Best Big Cities in the United States, following number 1 - Colorado Springs, Colorado, number 2 - Austin, Texas.  Other cities in our fair state that were on the 2006 list of the top 100 cities was Gilbert, number 16, and Scottsdale, number 7. Mesa ranked higher as a city with a population of 300,000 or more. The criteria that Money Magazine bases its selections on include: ease of living, crime rates, education, leisure and culture, weather, health and transportation. Mesa was boosted by its relative affordability and Scottsdale by its golf courses and recreational opportunities, and Gilbert by its exceptional job growth.

As I drive around our valley, so many beautiful views of nature fill my spirit. The incredibly blue sky, the spectacular mountains, flowers, trees, cactus, sunsets, white puffy clouds, little children playing, and a sense of peace and tranquility with large open fields, well groomed communities and homes. I marvel to think how fortunate I am to live here. I am grateful.

My Blog is Back!!! E-mail
Friday, 29 September 2006

Hi everyone: I'm back - finally!! When anyone has a website, it means that you are at the mercy of the internet and the ISP. Unfortunately due to a "glitch" in the system, I lost everything. Fortunately I had some of it backed up and my virtual assistant had the remainder backed up, and then we both had to go back in and re-do stuff. I think we're back in business.

Since the last time I posted, we are now at 47,904 active listings as of September 28! The numbers are not increasing as rapidly and homes can now be purchased at a more reasonable price. As I told you in one of my former posts, I'm finding homes - especially new homes - available for 2004 prices. Typically our homes appreciate 7% per year and in 2004 is when the prices started running wild. The builders were increasing their base price every week, investors were grabbing what they could, and thus our market in late 2004 and 2005. We had to get it back to "normal" starting in late Spring of this year. I will be posting regularly so I can bring everyone back up to speed on our market. Any questions, just give me a call. I'll be glad to answer whatever I can.
