Just wanted everyone to know about the Open House that Williams Airport in Mesa will be staging this coming Saturday. Even if you can't make it, I've posted a summary below:
While hundreds of Las Vegas and Chicago-bound passengers have been flying in and out of the East Valley terminal every week, many of our residents may not realize what Williams has to offer. Airport officials are staging an open house Saturday with military aircraft including an Apache helicopter and a Harrier, free hot-air balloon rides, a climbing rock wall, bouncy castle, clowns, contests and give-aways to entice our East Valley residents to stop by and have a look.
The airport is launching a new marketing campaign to familiarize everyone with the ease of boarding a plane in our East Valley instead of driving downtown to the Phoenix airport. I've always loved small airports - you don't have to walk so far, wait so long or deal with all of the hassle of large airports.
Since I have so many reasons to go to California (and who doesn't) :-), I'm looking forward to the planned service from Mesa Williams to a Los Angeles-area airport such as Ontario or Long Beach, reportedly still in negotiations and possibly happening as soon as June. How easy would that be? Not only is Mesa Williams a smaller airport but so is Ontario and Long Beach. For years when living in the Los Angeles area - the San Fernando valley, I would always take my flights out of Burbank. Now, it appears, that I'll have that opportunity to enjoy the convenience of an East Valley Airport just minutes away. As quickly as Phoenix and surrounding areas are growing, I suspect there'll be other flights added - especially in light of the population growth in Queen Creek.
By way of an update, I've passed my broker exams and will be getting my license with the next few days. Just have to go and pay for it. I will then be an associate broker with Model Home Center. Watch for more news to come!
Can't believe it, but sellers are still listing their homes BUT most of them are listing their homes at a competitive rate rather than the gazillions of dollars over market they were trying to get as a result of our 2004-2005 frenzy. Buyers really are taking advantage of the great opportunities to buy affordable homes at interest rates that are at about the same rate as last year. I always showcase my listings on the front page of this website and www.MoveToSunnyAz.com, but do also feature them on www.AzLadyInRed.com. All sellers get a virtual tour as well as lots of photos of their home to place on the MLS, virtual tours and on website listings. Lots of stuff. Worth the price..............
Today, 46,964 active listings on the market!!!!
